Wear High Heels And See The Heads Turn

Friday, November 6th, 2009

High heels are the hallmark of fashion and sophistication. They amplify the stature of a woman and make her look more alluring.

Watch a woman walk by in high heels and you can surely hear a pitter patter in your heart. It is really quite astonishing the way women balance themselves in heels. Nevertheless, they manage to look awesome in them. The sway of the hips and the gentle undulation gives a very sexy look to their being. Knowing the hypnotic effect of the heels, women are feeling inclined to search for newer types of high heels with even steeper heels to make them look still sexier. But what is it about high heel shoes that make women swoon over them and dish out large amounts of their hard earned money?

Recounting The History Of Heels

If you think about how high heels came into fashion, then it dates back to a great many centuries ago. The idea of heels occurred to Egyptians butchers first when they had to get across a horde of dead animal carcasses with blood spilt out everywhere. It was also used by horse riders to help them ride better. However, heels became a fashionable item when Catherine de’ Medici, the wife of the Duke of Orleans in 1533, wore them to increase her height. This hot idea soon caught the fancy of all other noblewomen and high heel shoes have continued to dominate the fashion world since then.

Their position in the fashion market

There have been ups and downs in the life of the high heels. They suffered a serious setback during the French Revolution. However, they soon bounced back in the nineteenth century with even newer styles and ideas. Their dominance over the fashion world was challenged by the flat-soled shoes but they resurfaced soon to be a necessary part of the dressing styles of most fashion icons. The apparel used in the twentieth century prompted the re-emergence of the heels.

What Is The Best Footwear For Children?

Friday, June 26th, 2009

I was at wal-mart yesterday and was noticing the different types of footwear the children were wearing. I usually don’t notice this stuff, but yesterday I did. Amway some of them were wearing sandals, some flip flops, crocs were common and some were wearing tennis shoes and socks. I noticed the kids wearing tennis shoes had the most natural walk while the other footwear mainly flip flops seemed somewhat restrictive. In other words you can tell that their not wearing regular shoes without even seeing their feet. It seems to me that tennis shoes are best from what I seen and from my own experiences. What say you?
