What to Wear to Your Rehearsal Dinner
A rehearsal dinner is a great chance for the couple to thank their families, friends and the bridal party before the wedding. The rehearsal dinner is traditionally held the evening before the wedding, right after the wedding rehearsal. Though it can take place anytime prior to the wedding date.
The rehearsal dinner is normally paid for by the groom’s parents. However, the bride and groom can also choose to pay for the dinner as part of their thanks to their friends and relatives.
Who’s Invited
The immediate families, plus the bridal party are invited to the rehearsal dinner. Also any out-of-town wedding guests should be included. The dinner is normally held at a semi-formal or casual restaurant. During the rehearsal dinner, the bride and groom toast their family and the bridal party. This is also the time that the couple can give gifts to their bridesmaids and groomsmen.
What to Wear
Obviously, the attire will depend quite a bit on the venue and style of the dinner. Rehearsal dinners can be held at casual establishments, but more often than not, they take place in a semi-formal environment.
A traditional suit, a sports coat and slacks, or even a pair of khaki pants and a nice sweater are all appropriate for the groom.
The bride can choose from many options.
The Pantsuit – A classic pantsuit is always a good fashion choice for the rehearsal dinner. Choose dark colors for a more formal event or fun, bright colors for a casual venue. Warm weather fabrics, include silk, linen and light knits. For colder weather, select a pantsuit in velvet, wool or jersey knit. Add a pair of feminine, heeled shoes or boots. Mary Jane pumps, velvet mules or leather boots all will work well.
The Little Black Dress – Always a big hit, the little black dress is very appropriate for a rehearsal dinner. If you husband-to-be is wearing a dark suit, dress accordingly by choosing a dressy style where the skirt falls at or just below the knee. A little black cocktail dress is a also a good choice. Sleeveless, halter style or capped sleeve styles are perfect. For a cocktail dress, short skirts are fine as long as they are not too short. Anything more than two inches above the knee is probably not a good idea. Add a pair of strappy sandals, peep-toe pumps or patent leather slingbacks.
The Sweater Dress – For a winter wedding, the sweater dress is the perfect option for your rehearsal dinner. A style that is skims the body but is not too clingy is perfect. You can choose from cowl neck, turtle neck or v-neck varieties. As with the cocktail dress, anything too short is not appropriate. Choose any colors you like, including solids, stripes and prints. For a more casual affair, wear your sweater dress with a pair of knee high leather boots. For something more formal, choose a pair of dress pumps or sandals.

If you are a typical woman, you probably have dozens and dozens of sneakers, sandals, flip-flops, loafers, boots and other kinds of footwear. But just how many of those do you actually love wearing? How many of them fit you properly and complement the fashion sense you have while still being versatile enough for different uses? You might be surprised that all you need to have are nine kinds of shoes that would be able to fit any lifestyle you have.
1. Expensive-looking shoes.
A couple of pairs of these would do for work wear. Assess what kind of shoes your boss wears and get a pair or two of a similar style. You would be able to always look stylish yet appropriate, and you would always have a pair to use just in case one needs to be repaired. You could probably go with pumps, as they are easy to wear and flattering. They are the typical and classic work shoes for women, particularly for those who work in banks, offices or upscale shops. Try to look for shoes that are dark or medium-neutral in color such as chocolate, black, burgundy, cordovan, charcoal or navy so that they would be able to complement any work wear you choose to put on.
2. Warm-weather work shoes.
Your best bet for these would be a two-part pump or peep toe shoes that would have a light shade like beige, tan or light gray.
3. Sling backs.
A pair with a neutral shade would definitely look chic if paired with straight skirts or classic-cut trousers. These could be worn with stockings or bare legs. They would also work with semi-formal and formal wear. They can also make wearing jeans sophisticated and can dress up denim skirts.
4. Strappy dress sandals.
You would need these for formal and semi-formal attire. Plus, they could make a pair of jeans look sexier, too. The best colors would be pale neutral or mid-tone, as well as metallics like silver or gold.
5. Casual shoes.
A neutral-colored pair would be great for weekend use. A woman could not go wrong with the classics like moccasins, oxfords, loafers or clogs.
6. Athletic shoes.
They should look good enough to wear with your Juicy Couture tracksuit but would be good and comfortable enough to wear for workout at the gym.
7. Boots.
A pair that is medium or dark neutral would be best for boots. You could choose a pair that would be classic enough to wear for work but would still be sexy enough to wear with a pair of jeans and a simple shirt.
8. Casual, warm weather shoes
Get two pairs of these in a light neutral color. A pair of sandals, flip-flops or ballet slippers that are made with quality and dressy material such as leather would be fabulous choices.
9. Galoshes or weather-protective footwear.
This is a must-have if you spend a lot of time outdoors.

Basic 1-2 inch pumps
A neutral basic pump works very well at the office or a night out on the town. Basic pumps can get you through the warm weather as well as the cold weather. When shopping for a pump, look for a plain one with a one to two inch heel in black, brown, or tan. You will be surprised how many times you will be wearing them.
Black Knee High Boots
Treat your self to a pair of knee high boots, which are perfect for the fall and winter seasons. Knee high boots look great with longer and medium length skirts and dresses. You can put them under pants and crop pants for a fall look. Or, you can put them over your pants for a trendy riding boot look. When choosing knee high boots, you want black ones with 2 to 4 inch heels. Look for boots that are plain with very little embellishments, so you can get more wear out of them.

Spring is here again! If your poor feet have been suffering all winter long, check out some of the latest spring show trends. This fun and comfortable footwear will immediately wipe away the winter blues.
Spring is all about vibrant color and energy, and the latest crop of trendy spring shows fits right in. No matter what your style is, these shoes are sure to dazzle with off-the-wall abstract designs and playful colors.Technicolor Dream
Forget the demure muted tones of the winter season and bring on the color. The latest spring shoes are sure to stimulate the senses. Wild colors are definitely in. There are many neon and flashy metallic shoes to brighten up any wardrobe.
Many designs go crazy over color and create a mixture of tones and hues using complicated stitching. The result is psychedelic-style floral and geometric patterns that celebrate all things spring. The unexpected additions silver and gold accents to these patterns or on traditional warm weather sandals will brighten up any outfit.Attention to Detail
Nothing adds drama to a well-designed shoe like a well-placed detail. This spring all the hottest shoes have just a little something extra. Perforations on boots and pumps have made a comeback for good reason. The playful windows allow ventilation for the feet and make stiff styles less formal. For sandals with straps, nothing draws attention like clunky jewels. Large stones reflect the sun and make these comfortable shoes sparkle.
Another emerging trend is bead detailing. Intricate beadwork draws the eye over the graceful lines of the footwear and provides a graphic area of interest for the eye. These masterpieces offer a down-to-earth and handmade feel to any outfit. If you have bohemian style, beaded sandals are the perfect addition to your wardrobe.Unexpected Materials
Take a walk on the wild side with the latest shoe material trends. Alligator and snakeskin shoes are nothing new, but this spring they are getting revamped. Patchwork designs consisting of many different textures reveal a touch of danger with the unmistakable texture of alligator. These materials not only make durable shoes, but the texture and colors make the details pop.
Patent leather may seem a bit stuffy, but it is getting a makeover for the spring season. Fun boots and flats made out of the stiff stuff can be worn to work or out on the town. Paring the leather with unexpected shapes and colors brings the formal material down to earth. The Trendiest Styles
